U.S.-based sculptor Lisa Johnson and Guatemalan writer Hugo Gordillo work together to translate Gordillo's stories about the Guatemalan civil war into sculptural objects and community events. Focus is on the destruction of native peoples and ecologies during this period, and U.S. complicity in those acts. The project includes sculpture, installation, performance, music, and events in threatened/displaced communities, in both Guatemala and the U.S.
