“WOMEN WE MET ELSEWHERE” (2013)
“WOMEN WE MET ELSEWHERE” is intercultural communication and the cross fertilization of ideas, which can build bridges across ideologies, cultures, ethnicities and age. The curator has participated in various artist residencies during the last 10 years, and the portfolio reflects some of the contacts she made during the international residencies. Exposure to ideas from “outside”, to the strength and commitment of other artists, can be a catalyst for social change and free exchange of ideas between women, exposing us to possibilities beyond a limited viewpoint. There is no attempt to impose a theme on the work in this portfolio, and it is hoped that the process of gathering and exhibiting materials will solidify bridges between these diverse women artists.
